On your invoice, you will have a column called “Invoice Tags”. The invoice tags exist to explain why a given reservation was charged or not. They will look something like this. In this guide, we’ll explain what each of these tags mean.

Tag Pair Description ✅ Valid / Allowed / Covered ❌ Invalid / Not Allowed / Not Covered
timing-valid / timing-invalid timing-valid / timing-invalid timing-valid / timing-invalid timing-valid / timing-invalid
source-allowed / source-notallowed Determines if the booking source (e.g. direct, OTA, channel manager) is approved for coverage. Source is eligible for coverage and billing. Source excluded (e.g. internal, test, or disallowed OTA).
policy-coverage-valid / policy-coverage-invalid Confirms that the reservation falls within an active policy period and meets coverage terms. Policy is active and applicable to this stay. Policy expired or terms make reservation ineligible.
deposit-required-valid / deposit-required-invalid Evaluates whether the deposit requirement (amount and timing) meets underwriting or billing rules. Deposit received and valid per rules. Deposit missing, late, or insufficient.
guest-reservation / not-guest-reservation Identifies whether the reservation was made by a genuine guest versus owner/staff/test. Legitimate guest stay eligible for coverage. Internal, owner, or test stay excluded.
cancelled-valid / cancelled-invalid Checks if a cancellation meets timing and conditions for a claim or billing event. Cancelled within coverage window (e.g. inside refund eligibility). Cancelled outside the covered time window or not applicable.
stay-within-90-days Ensures stay length does not exceed 90 nights (policy max). Stay ≤ 90 nights. (No explicit “invalid” tag — stays > 90 days simply fail this check.)
rent-within-50000 Confirms total rent (with markup) is within insurable limits. Rent ≤ $50,000. (No explicit “invalid” tag — over-limit reservations fail coverage.)
source-covered / source-not-covered Indicates whether the source is explicitly covered by the policy. Covered under active coverage agreement. Not covered by policy (used for exclusion).
arrival-within / arrival-not-within-9-days Validates how close the booking was made relative to arrival. Arrival ≥ 9 days away from booking (passes). Arrival < 9 days away (too close to qualify).
status-valid / status-invalid Evaluates the reservation’s current status for billing/coverage purposes. Status is eligible (Booked, Completed, or Cancelled Eligible). Status disqualified (Pending, Draft, Test, etc.).
